Granny B is a fictional story written with the purpose of putting the
spotlight over the women who helped run an industry during world war 2
while the men were so busy fighting the war. Often known as "Rosie the
rivetor" these women went to the manufacturing plants each day to build
the aircraft that would be used all over Europe. Some of them would fly
them to the various sectors as an all female ferrying pilot service.
This story is meant to recognize their effort that they gave so long
ago. The story is about a grandmother that now lives in Ireland. Her
daughter decides to fly out from Canada with her kids to visit her. Once
there, the grandson notices the picture of his Granny B - young and
pretty, in a uniform beside World War 2 looking planes. Beside the
picture is a medal of some sort. When he asks about them both, Granny B
goes into an adventurous tale describing the events that brought her to
earn such an award as a ferrying pilot during World war 2.
